The Role

Greenfield E-ACT Academy are looking for a 1-1 Learning Support Assistant.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic person who is able to demonstrate the skills required to be effective in this important role:

  • Able to inspire and support children to become active, independent thinkers and learners.
  • A person who has a strong belief in the effectiveness of teamwork.
  • Able to positively promote inclusion and have high expectations for all children.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team and establish positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
  • Experience of working and supporting small groups of children under teacher's direction including children with SEND on a 1:1 or 1:2 basis.
  • To have experience, a good knowledge and understanding of autism and social communication needs, including demand avoidance, and appropriate strategies to support pupils with this profile.
  • Knowledge of positive and personalised anxiety management strategies.
  • Able to take the initiative and regular responsibility for agreed learning /activities.
  • Is flexible and able to work collaboratively with other members of staff.
  • An ability to communicate effectively and build strong, trusting relationships - with professionals, parents and children.
  • Able to empathise and attune to others emotional states; to anticipate potential triggers and take pre-emptive action to de-escalate.
  • Positive handling training or a willingness to undertake.

The contract on offer is fixed term of x1 year, 32.5 hours per week and the actual salary ranges from £14,852.56 - £15,452.44 depending on experience (FTE £19,312 - £20,092)
