The Role

We are looking for an experienced teacher with an interest, passion and ambition for SEND students here at Nechells Primary Academy. The post is non-class based and you will be an integral part of our Senior Leadership Team. The successful candidate may have the National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination or be willing to work towards. Either way, a structured induction and professional development commitment will be given.


 Are you someone who has commitment to the needs of students with SEND and EAL, a shared ambition for SEND students and wants to make a genuine difference to the lives of students with SEND and are you able to effectively work with all stakeholders (parents/carers, colleagues and external agencies)

 

Reporting to the Headteacher


The purpose of this role is to assist the Headteacher in managing the day-to-day running of the school, working alongside Trust Leaders, including the National Director of SEND

 

  • To lead on all aspects relating to inclusion.
  • Specific responsibility of SENCo.
  • To support teachers and teaching assistant with the delivery of high-quality intervention so that all students’ regardless of background, achieve well
  • To be responsible for ensuring that curricular provision is of the highest standard for students with SEND and EAL

 

Main purpose of the role:

 

  • To assist the Headteacher in managing the day-to-day running of the school.
  • To work alongside Trust Leaders, including the National Director of SEND.
  • To meet with the Headteacher and/or senior staff at the Headteacher’s discretion for corporate planning and therefore to be a part of the major decision making and development.

 

Key Responsibility:

 

  • Strategic management of all issues relating to the curriculum and assessment of studentswith specific learning difficulties.
  • To maintain the standards achieved and then to further raise levels of achievement across the whole school.
  • Specific co-ordination of overall strategies related to raising achievement in Early Years, KS1, KS2 and, in conjunction with other members of the Leadership Team
  • All aspects of inclusion planning and review.
  • Work with the Deputy Headteacher in consultation, construction and production of the intervention/support timetable
