We are looking to recruit an exceptional Level 3 Teaching Assistant - Literacy here at Royton & Crompton Academy to support teaching and learning, providing general and specific assistance to pupils and staff under the direction, guidance and direct supervision of the classroom teacher.

Key responsibilities

Reporting to the HLTA or SLT link:

• Work with individuals or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff
• Supervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
• Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils’ work
• Undertake structured and agreed learning activities/teaching programmes under the supervision and guidance of teaching staff
• Developing the skills and aptitudes of students who struggle to access the full National Curriculum through academic mentoring, support and short targeted interventions, helping to manage and monitor students on that provision.

Pay range: SCP9-17 - (£22,092 - £25,304 - FTE: £25,119 - £28,770)

37 hours per week - 45.861 weeks per year.

Qualifications and Skills:

• GSCE's English & Maths
• TA3 Qualification or relevant experience.
• Knowledge and experience of SEN code of practice and related procedures and paperwork.
• Ability to extend children’s thinking skills
• Ability to model acceptable behaviours and encourage good social skills
