We are looking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Technician to support the Design Technology Department. The purpose of this role is to provide technical support to teaching staff and ensure a safe and clean working environment to facilitate high-quality teaching within the faculty.



Key responsibilities

  • Assist teachers with preparation of resources and equipment for lesson delivery on a daily basis
  • Assist in lessons as required during practical sessions
  • Develop apparatus and equipment for use in practical sessions and provide technical advice and assistance to teaching staff as required regarding resources for practical work and demonstrations
  • Carry out practical demonstrations in the classroom as required
  • Construct and modify apparatus as required, at the request of teachers in the faculty


Pay range SCP 12 - 17 £24,429.66 - £26,601.61 (FTE: £26,421.00 - £28,770.00)


Qualifications and Skills

  • 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (minimum grade 4 or equivalent)
  • Experience of working within a school or similar environment
  • Ability to demonstrate and inspire a passion for Technology
  • Ability to manage pupil behaviour and create a safe environment
