We are looking to appoint a passionate and dedicated HLTA join our academy, to collaborate with teachers in planning and delivering programmes of teaching and learning activities for individuals, groups and whole classes within a framework agreed with and under the overall direction and supervision of a qualified teacher.


Key responsibilities:


  • Plan, prepare and deliver assigned programmes of teaching and learning activities to individuals, small groups and/or whole classes modifying and adapting activities as necessary under the overall direction and supervision of a teacher
  • Develop and implement Individual Development Plans for pupils (such as Individual Educations Plans) including attendance at, and contribution to, reviews.
  • Support pupils in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate.
  • Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs.
  • Understand and support independent learning and inclusion of all pupils as required.


Pay range:


SCP 22 - 27 £27,585.38 - £31,438.57 (FTE: £31,364 - £35,745)


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above including English and Maths
  • Meet Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards or equivalent qualifications or experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of how children learn and how to motivate them
  • Knowledge of strategies for spelling, reading and number skills
  • Relevant educational experience supporting a child/children in a primary school setting
