Are you a visionary deputy leader seeking to be an integral part of an educational community that nurtures an environment where all children can flourish? An opportunity awaits you to support in the leadership of an academy dedicated to developing the whole child and has a people first culture. As a Senior Deputy Headteacher you provide strategic leadership to a key area of academy improvement and support the headteacher in all aspects of academy improvement. This job description should be read in conjunction with the relevant Senior Deputy Headteacher job specification.

 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Support the Headteacher in developing and implementing the vision and strategic direction of the Academy
  • Support the Headteacher in the day-to-day leadership of the Academy, deputising for them as required
  • Provide strategic leadership for overseeing and embedding quality and standards in teaching, learning and assessment across the academy
  • Ensure standards of support are effective across all areas of responsibility
  • Set high expectations for staff and students

  

Pay range: L22 - L26 £79,112.00 - £87,253.00

  

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified teacher status or recognised equivalent
  • Knowledge of current education legislation, Ofsted framework and best practice
  • Proven success of improving student outcomes within a school
  • Evidence of continuous professional development e.g. NPQH
  • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to inspire and challenge colleagues, peers and teams
