E-ACT North Birmingham Academy is looking for an enthusiastic Science Technician to join their supportive team in an exciting work environment. Is this for you? The purpose of this role is to coordinate the use of resources and facilities and aid and advice in meeting the practical needs of the curriculum, liaising with teaching staff and other support staff.

  

 Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist teachers with preparation of resources and equipment for lesson delivery on a daily basis
  • Assist in lessons as required during practical sessions
  • Develop apparatus and equipment for use in practical sessions and provide technical advice and assistance to teaching staff as required regarding resources for practical work and demonstrations
  • Carry out practical demonstrations in the classroom as required
  • Construct and modify apparatus as required, at the request of teachers in the faculty


 

Pay range:  Scale Point 12 - 17 £23,237.89 - £25,303.89 (FTE: £26,421.00 - £28,770.00)


Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (minimum grade 4 or equivalent)
  • Relevant qualification in Science or related subject (ideally level 5 or above)
  • Working knowledge of health and safety including COSHH
  • Experience of working within a Science department
