We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative, and committed Head of Humanities with high expectations of students and themselves. The successful candidate will be capable of inspiring students of all abilities through their passion for the subject.


Key responsibilities


Reporting to SLT link, this post holder will be accountable for


Leading, managing and developing the subject area


  • To play a key leadership role and to make a major contribution to the development of the academy;
  • To be accountable for the quality of the curriculum within the faculty;
  • To lead quality assurance in the faculty and contribute to whole school evaluation;
  • To share accountability for achieving the highest standards of student attainment and achievement of identified students;
  • To ensure teaching is consistently good;



Pay range: L9 - L13 £60,644 - £66,919


Qualifications and Skills

  • Qualified teacher status or recognised equivalent
  • Degree in subject specialism
  • Ability to teach ‘good or outstanding’ lessons
  • Proven success in improving student outcomes
  • Additional relevant training in Safeguarding
