We are looking to appoint passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join our academy, to support pupils with SEND and to ensure that every child succeeds.  Please note the role will also involve working 1-1 and with small groups of children as part of the class team.

 

Key responsibilities:

• Provide direct support for the learning of individual children or groups of children, including these with special needs, to achieve defined progression targets in a child’s learning plan and in class plans.

• Follow guidance from the teaching staff in providing an effective learning environment as determined by the teacher to

• Use supervision and care skills to support pupils, including those who have physical, emo-tional or educational needs.

• Work as part of a team to ensure that the wellbeing, behaviour and personal develop-ment of pupils enhances their learning opportunities and life skills. 

• Provide a 1:1 support for children with significant SEND to access the curriculum


Pay range: NJC SP5 to NJC SP7 (FTE £23,500 to £24,294 per annum) actual salary £18,713 to £19,345 per annum.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent to a Teaching Assistant role

• GCSE’s at Grade C or above in English and maths (or equivalent qualifications)

• A proficiency in improving basic numeracy and literacy with specialist skills in literacy that will enable you to work with targeted individuals

• Experience of working effectively supporting children in a learning environment.

• A good understanding and working knowledge of the curriculum and how to support pupils.
