Our national teams play a crucial role to support our academies across England. You will be part of an exceptional support network that makes a difference to our children's educational experience – which is at the heart of everything we do. We are looking to appoint passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant – Speech and Language to join our academy, to support pupils with SEND and to ensure that every child succeeds.  Please note the role will also involve working 1-1 and with small groups of children as part of the class team.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Work with individuals or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff
  • Supervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
  • Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher
  • Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils’ work 
  • Monitor pupils’ responses to learning activities and accurately record achievement and progress as directed

  

Pay range: NJC SP5 - SP7 £19740.91 - £20,373.19 per annum (FTE £24,790 to £25,584 per annum)

33.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

  

Qualifications and Skills:

  • TA2 Qualification or equivalent
  • Maths & English GCSE Grades 4 -9 or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in a similar role
  • Experience of working with children who have a wide variety of educational needs
  • Ability to model acceptable behaviours and encourage good social skills
