We are looking to appoint a committed and passionate SEND Teaching Assistant to work with specific teachers and children to support teaching and learning, providing specialist support for additional EHCP needs.


Key responsibilities:

  • Supervise and provide particular support for identified pupil(s) with special educational needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes
  • With appropriate training, to meet the specific medical needs of identified pupil(s) during the school day
  • Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils

 

Pay range:

SCP 7 - 19 £19,765.04 - £24,000.95 (FTE: £25,584.00 - £31,067.00)

32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Fixed Term until 27.01.2026

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Maths & English GCSE Grades 4-9 (A-C) or equivalent.
  • NVQ2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience
  • Understanding of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all members of the school community and can assist the school in forming a partnership with parents
