Key responsibilities:

  • Day to day leadership and implementation of the school’s special needs and disability (SEND) and Inclusion Policy, to ensure pupils with SEND achieve good or better outcomes 
  • Overall responsibility for the SEND Register and monitoring of record keeping of pupils with SEND 
  • Preparation of requests for EHC needs assessments, implement provision named in pupils EHCPs, chair review meetings of SEND pupils, and annual reviews and EHCP related meetings 
  • Lead aspects of whole school CPD to ensure teaching colleagues have the knowledge and skills to meet pupils’ additional and SEND needs through high quality differentiation, inspirational teaching strategies and directed and timely support 


Pay range:

L1 - L9 £30,048.28 - £35,566.38 (16.5 hours per week) FTE: £51,986 - £70,055


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent 
  • Degree in related subject specialism 
  • SENCO qualification  
  • Previous experience as a SENCO 
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents/ carers, colleagues and external agencies
